New Releases and Hot Sellers for September

So much music - so little time! But definitely worth an honorable mention this month is the new release by Nine Inch Nails 'Hesitation Marks' . Formats: Deluxe Edition includes 14 tracks plus a bonus CD with 3 remixes and is accompanied by a 28 page hardcover book, standard CD and vinyl edition is pressed on two black 180 gram LPs housed in a gatefold jacket and includes a CD insert of the album.

Our own Ladi6 launched her album 'Automatic' last month with nationwide instore appearances including an exclusive Christchurch stopover visit to Pennylane Riccarton. Thanks to everyone who turned out for that one - awesome afternoon.

For those preferring their music loud and heavy - English metalcore band Asking Alexandria have been shaking foundations with their third studio album 'From death to destiny', while American rockers Avenged Sevenfold charged straight up the charts with the release of  'Hail to the King' . Not to be outdone, American heavy metal band DevilDriver released 'Winter Kills'.  The band was originally named Deathride, however, due to copyright issues and the name being taken by several bands, Deathride changed its name to DevilDriver, which refers to bells Italian Wiccans used to drive evil forces away. (Thanks Wikipedia, where would we be ..?)

Further along the music spectrum, The Green are arguably one of the biggest acts in world Reggae right now. Their new album 'Hawai'i '13' dances through roots reggae, soul, and R&B charting a journey through Hawaiian life and music in 2013.

'Tooth and Nail' is the first new studio album in five years from the veteran British singer/songwriter and political activist Billy Bragg and  'Made Up Mind' is the second studio album from Tedeschi Trucks Band, a jazz/rock/soul/blues blended group based in Jacksonville, Florida.

As summer is just round the corner (It is, isnt it ?) we've featured American singer songwriter Laura Veirs' 'Sun Song'  as our Video of the Month . It's the song which opens her ninth album 'Warp and Weft'  and is the perfect starting point for what is arguably some of the best work yet from the Portland singer-songwriter, who gets some help from kd lang and Neko Case, as well as the legendary Tucker Martine on production.

Rounding out this months selection is  Bay of Plenty singer/songwriter Maisey Rika who's 3rd studio album 'Whitiora', is a full length Te reo (Maori) album, she describes as "representing a positive, new light on life."  Who couldn't do with a bit more of that !

So that's just a handful of new arrivals and outstanding sellers now in store. With thousands more in stock - latest imports, back catalogue, vinyl, AND A THREE DAY SALE ON AT RICCARTON - if you are really serious about a good deal on music, then now's the time come down and see us.
