Penny Lane Blues Collection

Blues is about tradition and personal expression. At its core, the blues has remained the same since its inception. Most blues feature simple, usually three-chord, progressions and have simple structures that are open to endless improvisations, both lyrical and musical.

Like with most genres Blues has crossed over into the mainstream with so many artists taking it to the more blues/rock level - artists like George Thorogood, ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughan, to name a few.

We have a large selection of these artists as well as sections for Robert Cray, Johnny Winter, Tony Joe White, Albert Collins, Canned Heat, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Lightnin Hopkins, Etta James, John Mayall, etc. - and compilations from the great labels like Alligator, Chess, EMI Plus (4 CD Sets) Roots N Blues, Rhino, Blind Pig etc.
